The Professional Practice department supports competent, ethical, and reflective social work practice in the public interest. Our work is grounded in our legislative responsibilities and focuses on supporting awareness and adherence to the professional expectations outlined in the bylaws, Standards of Practice, and Code of Ethics.
We take a supportive, educational, and consultative approach to regulation. This includes:
- overseeing the College’s competence and quality assurance programs,
- providing practice consultations,
- developing practice guidance, and
- offering webinars and presentations.
Through these activities, we assist registered social workers, employers, educators and other partners to understand and apply professional expectations in real‑world practice settings.
