ACSW is committed to upholding our mandate of public protection through the ongoing professional regulation of social workers.
We are launching a new e-practice registry for registered social workers registered in other provinces within Canada or the USA, to provide social work services to Albertans through virtual and electronic platforms.
This registry will protect Albertans by providing transparent information about the registered social work service provider, and support the barrier-free movement of registered social work professionals across provincial borders, recognizing registration and licensure of qualified social work professionals. The e-practice registry will expand the social work workforce in Alberta, providing critical social work services to Albertans.
E-practice registration will be renewable on an annual basis. The existing courtesy registry will be limited to temporary registration for a specific short-term purpose and is not renewable. Fees for this new registry can be found on the fee schedule.
